FAQ

Q: How do I register?

A: To register with us, go in the chatroom, type "/msg NickServ password email" without quotes in the chatbox. Replace password with your own password, and email with your own email. You don't need to input your username or anything else, just "/msg NickServ password email" without quotes. After registration, we can assign you the appropriate privileges.

Q: Why does it tell me that I have one minute to identify or NickServ will change my nickname?

A: Unfortunately, your nickname is taken, choose another one. To change your nickname, type "/nick newnickhere" without quotes. Replace newnickhere with your desired nickname. If you are the owner of that nick name, type "/msg NickServ IDENTIFY password" without quotes and replace password with your password.

Q: Why does it say that my nickname is in use?

A: 3 possibility here. (a) Your internet connection was lost but you didn't disconnect. This will eventually result in a ping timeout. Just temporarily add a "1" to your nickname, and ask the chatroom ops to kick your counterpart. (b) The nickname is taken. Choose another one. (c) Someone breaked in your account. We hope that this never happens. If this is true, you have to contact WyldRyde

General Instructions

Using my own chat client

You can of course use your own IRC client. The server is irc.geekshed.net. The chatroom is #community110.

Changing Nickname

To change your nickname, type "/nick newnickhere" without quotes. Replace newnickhere with your desired nickname.

Registration

In order for us to assign you proper level in the chat, you are required to register. This way, your username will also be protected.

To register your nickname, type "/msg NickServ register password email" without quotes. Replace password with your desired password, and email with your email address.

Quit the Chatroom

Don't quit! Well, if you want to quit, just close the tab/window. If you are using Opera, you may not be logged out immediately. A ping time out will soon occur though (Refer to FAQ, 3rd Question, b). Alternatively, you can ask an op to kick you out of the chatroom.

More help? No problem

Just login into the chat, and ask the chat ops. If it is not related to the chat, just ask in the chatroom!
